Liaison Psychiatry (General Adult)
Full time/Part time/job share
A full time new consultant post in adult liaison psychiatry is now available based at Knowsley Recovery and resource centre Whiston general hospital. This new post is funded by CCG as part of Core 24. The appointee will play a key role in developing the service in line with Core 24 standards specified in Nice Guidance.
Roles and Responsibilities
The post holder will have to demonstrate a commitment to clinical excellence and should have the ability to work as part of multidisciplinary team. The main responsibilities will be to provide clinical, educational, managerial, and leadership contribution to the Liaison Team. The post holder will work closely with acute hospital colleagues, innovating to develop and maintain an excellent service.
The post holder should have MRCPsych or equivalent with full registration, licence to practice and specialist registered or within 6 months of obtaining CCT on the date of the advisory appointment committee. The post is suitable for those who have CCT in General Adult Psychiatry. An endorsement in Liaison psychiatry is desirable but not essential.
The post holder should have excellent knowledge in assessing and providing mental health interventions for people with physical health problems.

This post is subject to an enhanced check with adults barred list Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check. Successful candidates will either have a valid DBS check with the Trust or will be required to pay for the cost of the DBS Disclosure which is £47.50 for an enhanced disclosure, the cost of which will be deducted from first salary.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
