We are currently looking for highly committed and dependable Registered Mental Health Nurses to provide a high standard of care to service users currently receiving care within the female secure pathway based on Chesterton Unit. It is a really exciting opportunity - supporting women to function at their optimum level within a multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will be expected to work across both units providing on-going rehabilitation within a least restrictive framework.
Chesterton support women on the secure pathway in order to successfully move them on from in-patient services to community settings. The primary role of the Nurse Practitioner is to co-ordinate, provide and monitor the nursing care of the designated group of service users during the inpatient episode. You will be expected to participate in risk assessment and collaborative care planning.
The post holder will be required to supervise and co-ordinate Nursing Staff, Student Nurses and Health Care Assistants with an overriding purpose of supporting the provision of the highest quality service user care.
Supporting the service we have a Forensic Outreach Team, Medical staff, Occupational Therapists, Psychology Service, Social Worker and Nursing Teams. As part of our role we also act as a gate keeping service to low secure on behalf of the North West Specialised Commissioning Team.
The successful applicants will be offered a full Trust induction and local work based induction. Full access is given to mandatory training and service specific training as identified in the Management supervision process.
This post is subject to an enhanced with adult's barred list Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check. Successful candidates will either have a valid DBS check with the Trust or will be required to pay for the cost of the DBS Disclosure which is £47.50 for an enhanced disclosure, the cost of which will be deducted from first salary.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
