North West Boroughs Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (formerly known as 5 Boroughs Partnership NHS Foundation Trust until 1st April 2017), provides physical health, mental health and learning disability services across the North West region. The Trust employs around 4000 staff across our sites and also has a Temporary Bank which offers the flexibility of working shifts around other commitments.

We are committed to providing safe, compassionate care and look to appoint people who are as passionate about patient care as we are.

Whiston Mental Health Liaison Team is a dynamic team based in Whiston Hospital, Merseyside. We will be providing an exciting opportunity whereby the current team will be significantly expanding its services in April 2018 and we need a range of professionals to complement the current team. We are looking for a number of qualified professionals at Bands 7 and Band 6,  as well as Psychologists and therapy staff and hope you can join us.

The team will provide a 24/7 multi-disciplinary psychiatric liaison service which will be based in Whiston acute hospital working across the wards and the AED.

The Mental Health Liaison Team Practitioners within the team are individuals who, alongside the expected clinical skill set, demonstrate motivation and innovation in the delivery of integrated physical and mental health services whilst developing the service and building quality relationships with partner organisations. Experience of working in Liaison is not essential as training and support will be provided, however experience will be an advantage.

The development of the Liaison service is an example of the on-going transformation agenda of both mental health and acute care services in Knowsley and will impact on the wider health economy.

As an employee of North West Boroughs Healthcare NHS Trust, you will receive the following benefits:

  • Free 24 hour access to our Health and Well-being Centre and Gym at the Hollins Park site, including tai chi and pilates classes
  • 27 days annual leave plus bank holidays (29 days after 5 years’ and 33 days after 10 years’ service)
  • Access to the NHS pension scheme
  • The opportunity to access a range of NHS discounts, such as the NHS Electronics Scheme, Salary Sacrifice Car and Bikes for Staff Schemes
  • Regular supervision and access to a range of training courses at our Education Centre
  • Access to our Library at Hollins Park House, providing resources to support you in your development and/or research
